back SSS Study

After spending the last year transitioning to Blender for all my CG needs, this bust was used as a vehicle for studying Blender's SSS shading capabilities. Lighting is the only difference between the two; everything from modeling to compositing done in Blender.

pointoflife14 I think so...lol trying to remember if I retopo'd. Yes, after looking at the mesh again, yes I retopo'd. But no dyntopo. Multires sculpt -> retopo -> fine-detail multires sculpt.

A new realistic human skin/portait course is on my to-do list 🤞

Hey Kent, outstanding work there, "Hulk Brogan". Did you utilize the sculpt-retopo workflow on this? By the way, would love to see a course on creating realistic human skin with facial hair.

ffxswan AFAIK, Cycles' SSS isn't changing much (if any) with 2.79. So yes, it should be compatible.

Still, I would like to update our SSS content with a new course in the near future.

like it...is CGC SSS going to be compatible with 2.79? Will you do a demo?
